Welcome to Meadowside
Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Meadowside is a very special primary school with a unique ‘family’ atmosphere where our school values are:
Aspirational, Environmental, Independence, Opportunistic, Understanding.
The school begins a new chapter in September 2025 as I have been appointed the new Headteacher!
Meadowside is a special, environmentally friendly school where everyone is valued, and children are at the heart of everything we do.
We continue to build a caring, safe environment where children achieve strong social and academic outcomes. We foster a love of learning and are aspirational for all. This is a school where children learn to become independent, curious learners and seize opportunities presented to them. Children show an understanding of difference and celebrate diversity. Governors and staff work together to challenge and celebrate as we create a school that we are proud of.
I am looking forward to the challenges that lay ahead and this is an exciting time to be part of our school. The Meadowside Family is unique, and I am privileged to lead us into the next exciting chapter as we continue to make a difference for our future.
Mr Port,

Today in our core values assembly, we spoke about diversity. We imagined what it would be like to just have maths all day every day. We decided that we’d get really good at maths but it would be a bit boring! Our Meadowside curriculum is diverse, just like all the children. We celebrated our differences but also talked about prejudice (a big word to understand for small people!) and the protected characteristics such as age, race and disability. This was all about our school value ‘U for Understanding’ and involved our school rule ‘Be Kind’ We shared the video in
A primary school assembly, most suitable for pupils aged 7 – 11, in which pupils consider the theme 'diversity' and what it means to them. Includes a song and time for reflection and/or prayer. Suitable for Collective Worship. BBC School Radio. BBC Teach.
There’s nothing like a water fight in 12 degrees to take revenge on your Headteacher and Year 6 teacher after sitting through a week of tests! The legendary water fight took place on the field after lunch and a lot of fun was had by all.
Year 6, we are so proud of your effort, determination and resilience. These attributes will be some of the most important characteristics to hold on to throughout your life. Most importantly, you have made yourselves proud. 💙💚585⭐⭐⭐ Friday Fortnightly, out now! ⭐⭐⭐
