Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Meadowside is a very special primary school with a unique ‘family’ atmosphere where our school values are:
Aspirational, Environmental, Independence, Opportunistic, Understanding.
After our Ofsted visit in June 2025, we have been on a rapid school improvement journey. I began my Headship in September 2025 and I have high aspirations for all the children and staff at Meadowside. We have made rapid progress in academic achievement (see school performance) but there is still work to do as we build a curriculum that challenges the children across all subjects. Governors are a key part of leadership at Meadowside and they ensure a high level of challenge and accountability for all. Children and staff want the best for all children that attend Meadowside and this is clear from the moment you step into the building. When you visit you will see our aspirations in action in a calm and positive environment.
My first year as Headteacher was a privilege and I continue to look forward to the challenges that lay ahead and this is an exciting time to be part of our school. The Meadowside Family is unique, and it is an honour to lead us into the next exciting chapter as we continue to make a difference for our future.

Yesterday, the children learnt about Meadowside history during an assembly with Miss Mellersh. They learnt that in the 1300s, only TWELVE people lived in what we now know as Quedgeley! They learnt the names of the families that owned the land (Curtis and Carter) and how once King Henry VIII met the Mayor of Quedgeley on the ‘Kings Way’ (Bristol Road). Fast forward a few hundred years and the site at Meadowside was a factory that helped supply plane parts for during World War II! Our houses are named after famous planes for this reason.
